July 22, 201 – Welcome Alexandra Tratnik, our new articling student!

Alexandra Tratnik will be joining DSF as our second articling student for the 2010-2011 year. Alexandra graduated from the University of Western Ontario and received her Juris Doctor from the University Of British Columbia.

July 20, 2010 – Welcome Marty Rabinovitch, our new lawyer!

On his call to the Bar, Marty Rabinovitch joins our insurance and commercial litigation teams. A graduate of both Queen’s University and the University of Windsor Faculty of Law, Marty completed his articles and spent several years as a summer student at DSF.

July 12, 2010 – Welcome Christopher Girardo, our new lawyer!

Christopher Girardo is the newest addition and asset to DSF’s ever-expanding Insurance Defense group. Christopher graduated from York University and received his Bachelor of Arts (Honors) for Philosophy in 2006. He was called to the Bar in 2010 and has since spent the last year articling, acquiring knowledge and practice after gaining his LL.B from Queen’s University.

July 8, 2010 – Welcome Christopher Statham, our new articling student!

DSF is pleased to announce Christopher Statham as our newest articling student. Since obtaining both an undergraduate and a master’s degree from the University of Toronto, Christopher has recently completed his LL.B at the University of New Brunswick and has been chosen to article for the 2010-2011 term.

June 24, 2010 – Welcome Kerri Parslow, our new lawyer!

DSF welcomes Kerri Parslow to our team. Having earned both an undergraduate degree and an LL.B. from Queen’s University, Kerri articled with a large national firm, was called to the Bar in 2005 and is joining our expanding Family Law group.

June 16, 2010 – Welcome Pradeep Chandrashekhar, our 36th lawyer!

DSF welcomes Pradeep Chandrashekhar to our growing family. Hailing from Halifax, Pradeep secured his LL.B at the University of Ottawa and is a proud graduate of Dalhousie University, where he earned a B.Sc. in Biology as well as an MBA. Having just been called to the bar, Pradeep will be practising in all areas relating to insurance defence litigation.

June 14, 2010 – Welcome Denielle Boyer, our new law clerk!

Denielle Boyer has become the newest member of our growing family law team. Denielle graduated from Durham College and has experience with working on family law files.

May 25, 2010 – Welcome Flora Poon,our 35th lawyer

Flora Poon has joined DSF as part of our commercial litigation and bank recovery group. Flora graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Commerce and subsequently completed the joint J.D./LL.B. program at the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy, receiving both an American and Canadian law degree. She currently practises in the areas of commercial litigation, bankruptcy, insolvency, construction liens, debt recovery, real estate litigation and employment law. Welcome Flora!

April 30, 2010 – Welcome Samuel J. Yoon, our 34th lawyer

Samuel Yoon has joined DSF as part of our commercial litigation group.  A 2002 graduate of the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University, Sam earned both a B. Sc. (Hons) and an M. Sc. from the University of Toronto. He practises in the areas of commercial and other litigation, including class actions, shareholder oppression, product liability, commercial tenancies and a variety of complex business and other disputes.

Check out the inaugural issue of our DSF Newsletter to read about important changes requiring workplace violence/sexual harassment policies as well as the choices facing dismissed employees, an important bankruptcy decision out of Nova Scotia, recent changes to Ontario Family Law, and the latest additions to the DSF family.

Apr. 19, 2010 – Welcome to Nick Dimitropoulos, our 33rd lawyer

Nick Dimitropoulos has joined DSF as part of our commercial lending and real estate groups. Nick has run his own business, managed real estate and, since becoming a lawyer in 2003, worked exclusively in commercial finanancing, as well as corporate and commercial real estate. Nick is another member of DSF who is fluent in Greek.

Apr. 19, 2010 – Welcome to Alexa Campbell, our new law clerk!

Alexa Campbell has become the newest member of our mortgage recovery group. Having graduated from Humber College in 2006, Alexa has worked for the Superior Court of Justice and more recently, in private practice, handling complex mortgage and debt enforcement matters.

Dec. 2, 2009 – Welcome to Maya Krishnaratne, our new lawyer!

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Maya Krishnaratne has joined DSF, as our 32nd lawyer. Maya joins our insurance defence group after practising in the same area of law for two years at a prominent Hamilton firm.
