Tara received her B.A. from York University, where she was on the Dean’s list in 2001, 2002 and 2003, winning York University Continuing Students Scholarships in each of those years. She was awarded the Stong College Master’s Award for Academic Excellence at convocation. Tara graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School with her LL.B. in 2007 and was called to the Bar in 2008 after completing her articles with us. During her articling term, Tara had broad exposure to a wide variety of litigation, including insurance defence, personal injury, debt recovery, estate litigation, and general commercial litigation. She appeared at the Small Claims Court and the Superior Court of Justice, where she dealt with various interlocutory motions and other matters.
Tara has been practicing since 2008, after joining the firm as an articling student. Initially, she practiced in the fields of Insurance Defence, Commercial Litigation and Family Law. In the past year, she has chosen to focus her efforts primarily on the fields of Family Law and Childhood Education Law.
Tara is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Toronto Lawyers Association, the Advocates Society and the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association.
