Christopher W. Statham

Christopher is an employment lawyer in Toronto and is a graduate of the University of Toronto (B.A. & M.A in Philosophy) and the University of New Brunswick (LL.B). He completed his articles with Devry Smith Frank LLP and was called to the bar in 2011.

Christopher advises employers on a wide variety of matters relating to employment law including drafting and interpreting employment contracts, dealing with issues related to dismissal, discipline, non-competition and non-solicitation covenants, employee vs. independent contractor status, handling of company property, fiduciary obligations of senior employees, employee fraud, harassment and bullying in the workplace as well as issues relating to the application of the Employment Standards Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Christopher has represented employers in litigation matters involving alleged wrongful dismissal, human rights issues, employee fraud matters and other contractual disputes.

Christopher Statham frequently appears before Ontario Superior Court of Justice and has also appeared before the Divisional Court, the Federal Court of Canada, the Small Claims Court, the Ontario Ministry of Labour and the Tax Court of Canada.
