Elisabeth Colson,

Fluently bilingual in English and French, Elisabeth received her honours B.A. in Political Science from McGill University, and received her law degree in 1989 from the Universite de Montreal, where she was an award winner for the Jessup Cup Moot Court Competition. Elisabeth is a member of the Ontario and Quebec bars.

Elisabeth has held both private practice and in-house positions in Canada and abroad, and has extensive experience in business and entertainment law, including general corporate and commercial matters, intellectual property, distribution and licensing arrangements, and media and production insurance, reinsurance and financings. She was general counsel for a Toronto-based film and television completion bonding company, as well as for a venture capital firm. She has also held the position of Vice-President, Legal Affairs for an international franchise company and acted as in-house legal counsel for all companies acquired by the firm.

Prior to joining DSF, Elisabeth was a panelist at the Innoversity and ReelWorld Film Festivals, and published a series of articles in “Screen Africa”.
