Ira is a graduate of Dalhousie University (B.A.), completed his Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School and was called to the bar in 2016. Ira practices exclusively in the area of family law, with a focus on high-conflict separations and child protection proceedings.

During his time at Osgoode Hall, Ira was involved with a number of facets of student life. He was a caseworker with the Community and Legal Aid Services Program, was the lead guitarist for the school’s Mock Trial Band, and participated in a number of moots. In addition to a semester abroad at Vrije University, Amsterdam, Ira spent his final semester of law school working with the judges of the Ontario Court of Justice, Metro East Courthouse.

Ira returns to Devry Smith Frank LLP (“DSF”) as an associate after having summered and articled with the firm. During his articling, Ira worked closely with the family law team on diverse issues relating to custody and access, support and child welfare, and assisted with proceedings before both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice.

In his spare time, Ira is an avid musician, enjoys cooking, travelling and weight training.
