Featured Area of Practice:  Family Law

Tyler Teichert joined Devry Smith Frank LLP (“DSF”) in 2017, after practicing at a boutique family law firm. Tyler practices in all areas of family law, including: custody, access, support, property, and child protection. He regularly appears in family court including conferences and motions, and has conducted a Superior Court of Justice trial. However, Tyler is also committed to obtaining a fair and cost-effective resolution outside of litigation whenever possible. He assists clients in entering into cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts, and separation agreements.

Tyler was called to the Bar in Ontario in June 2015 after obtaining a J.D. degree from The University of Western Ontario. Throughout law school, he found his passion in family law by acting as the Family Law Project Coordinator through Pro Bono Students Canada. In this position, he drafted family court documents for persons who could not afford a lawyer but did not qualify for legal aid. He then articled in a full service firm in London, Ontario, where he had the opportunity to conduct Small Claims trials and assist senior litigation lawyers with their files.

Prior to attending law school, Tyler resided in the United States and worked as a professional horse trainer. He competed successfully at the national level with Arabian Horses at competitions across the United States and Canada. He very much enjoyed assisting his clients achieve their goals, and found it very rewarding to coach his amateur riders to national success.

Tyler now spends most of his free time on the volleyball court. He enjoys competing in volleyball tournaments across Canada and the United States, attending sporting events, and he also remains involved in the equine industry.
