Janet S. Young, B.F.A., LL.B.

Janet was called to the Bar in 1991 after completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at York University and obtaining her law degree from the University of Victoria, B.C. in 1989. She also studied History and Political Science at the University of Toronto.

Janet articled at a Toronto litigation firm and has practiced predominantly civil litigation since her call to the Bar. She has been involved in a broad range of litigation including personal injury, medical malpractice, occupier’s liability, disability claims, products liability and professional negligence.

She has extensive experience at the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and has appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Canada Pension Plan Review Tribunal and the Coroner’s Court.

Janet practices in the areas of personal injury and insurance defence litigation, as well as general civil litigation. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association, the Advocates’ Society and the Toronto Lawyers Association.
