In addition to complex commercial, fraud, title and other insurance matters, Lawrence Hansen has acted as a commercial collections lawyer on a broad range of commercial recovery matters, particularly in respect of unsecured claims. In addition he also acts for credit unions and searches for the most practical, effective and timely method for maximizing recovery, working with other legal and financial professionals to do so.
Lawrence knows the litigation process and the tools available to a creditor, including Mareva and other injunctions, orders for the preservation of property, equitable and other forms of receivership orders, summary judgment, examinations, the seizure and sale of assets, Sheriff’s sales, contempt proceedings, and mandatory as well as private mediations. Lawrence Hansen regularly appears, in particular, in the Superior Court of Justice.
A proud Maritimer, Lawrence Hansen completed an undergraduate degree at the University of New Brunswick and earned two law degrees at McGill University.
