Julie Tyas,
B.A.(Hons.), LL.B.
Julie joined Devry Smith Frank LLP in July 2011 as an associate in the family law department.
Julie Tyas received her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2003 and she then completed her LL.B. at the University of Windsor in 2006. Julie was called to the Ontario bar in June 2007, after working for a family lawyer throughout law school in Windsor and completing her articles in Ottawa. She has practiced family law exclusively since 2007, at two well-respected law firms in downtown Toronto.
Julie’s practice incorporates all aspects of family law for heterosexual and same-sex couples including: cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts, separation agreements, property issues, divorce, child and spousal support, custody and access. Julie is committed to providing her clients with alternatives to litigation, (including mediation and/or arbitration) but she advocates on behalf of her clients in the Ontario courts should this be the most appropriate forum for each client’s unique circumstances.
Julie is a member of the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association.
Julie enjoys spending her free time hiking, running and being outdoors.
