Leonard I. Bernstein is an associate in the Business Law, Corporate Services and Commercial Litigation groups. Prior to joining Devry Smith Frank LLP as an associate, Leonard was both a summer and articling student at the firm. During this time, he was exposed to various matters within the Business Law, Commercial Litigation, and Advocacy practice groups. In doing so, Leonard gained experience drafting various commercial agreements and assisting with a variety of transactions. Leonard’s experience includes conducting legal research on a wide range of commercial and general corporate matters; assisting with asset and share purchase transactions; and drafting a variety of corporate and commercial documents.

Leonard is a graduate from the University of Western Ontario (B.A. in Philosophy, Specialization Reasoning & Ethics, Honours) and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law. In addition, Leonard spent a semester of his final year on exchange studying International Law at the University of Groningen, in the Netherlands. Prior to joining DSF, Leonard gained exposure to legal practice by volunteering as a case worker with Student Legal Assistance at the University of Calgary and working for a well established law office in Hamilton.

When outside the office, Leonard enjoys an active lifestyle as a competitive hockey and squash player, and is also an avid runner. Additionally, he has travelled extensively in South America, Western Europe, and Southeast Asia.
