Fluently bilingual in English and French, Elisabeth received her honors B.A. in Political Science from McGill University, and received her law degree in 1989. While at law school at Université de Montréal, she was an award winner for the Jessup Cup Moot Court Competition. Elisabeth is a member of the Ontario and Quebec bars.

Elisabeth has held both private practice and in-house positions in Canada and abroad, and has extensive experience in a wide range of business law matters, including general corporate and commercial, entertainment, franchising, intellectual property, insurance and reinsurance, leasing, licensing and media and production financing. She was general counsel for a venture capital firm, held the position of Vice-President, Legal Affairs for an international franchise company and acted as in-house legal counsel for all companies acquired by the firm. As an Ontario Corporate and Commercial Lawyer, Elisabeth was also legal counsel for a global reinsurance company. In that capacity she attended to all corporate matters including corporate governance and compliance in numerous jurisdictions, and was involved in risk assessment and risk management. Elisabeth’s experience includes dealing with issues related to the structuring, registration, governance and operation of charitable and not-for-profit organizations, with a particular focus on incorporation and obtaining registered charity status, maintaining charitable status, governance changes and transitions and updating by-laws.

As our Toronto corporate lawyer, Elisabeth currently has a general corporate/commercial practice and is involved in incorporations, partnerships, joint venture agreements, shareholders’ and creditors’ rights and remedies, as well as business mergers, acquisitions and restructurings.
