David Derfel,

David began his career with Devry Smith Frank LLP when he was called to the Bar in 2002. As a Partner in our Personal Injury Group, David’s practice is focused on helping those in need. David has many years of experience representing people who have been seriously injured in car accidents, slip and falls and the negligence of others. Assisting people who have sustained traumatic and often catastrophic injuries requires experience and expertise.
David has appeared as counsel at trials and arbitrations, to ensure that his clients get fair compensation that allows them and their families to live with dignity. In addition to his experience before the courts, David has been involved in the planning and organization of an annual wheelchair relay to raise funds for those who suffer spinal cord injuries and has been a presenter at an annual conference devoted to assisting those with acquired brain injuries. Having represented insurers in the past, David now fights for the little guy and the underdog.
David’s commitment to advocating for the rights of the injured and disabled is reflected by his membership with the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association.
