As a real estate lawyer, Matthew Sack’s practice encompasses a variety of real estate and land development matters with particular emphasis on condominium development and residential purchase and sale transactions. Realizing that the purchase of a home is probably the single largest investment most people will ever make, Matthew takes the time to meet with the clients personally and carefully reviews how the process works and what the lawyer and the clients each need to do to ensure a successful closing of the transaction.

Matthew also regularly drafts and negotiates a wide range of real estate-related agreements and documents on behalf of purchasers, vendors, lenders, and borrowers, including agreements of purchase and sale, and loan and security documents.

As a resident of Toronto, Matthew is very familiar with the real estate market and continues to be amazed at its growth. He has been the recipient of exceptional client loyalty and is known for his client-focused service and outstanding legal guidance.

He is a graduate of the University of Toronto where he obtained his Honours B.A. in Political Science and English Literature. While at the University of Toronto, he was a Dean’s List scholar and graduated with Distinction. Matthew received his LL.B from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law, and was the recipient of the Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP Millenium Scholarship in Constitutional Law. While at the University of Windsor he worked at the university’s Community Legal Aid program for three years and participated in the Zuber Moot competition.

Matthew articled with Devry Smith Frank LLP (‘DSF’) where he received a broad exposure to a variety of areas of litigation with an emphasis on mortgage enforcement and insurance defence. He was called to the Bar in 2003 following the successful completion of the Bar Admission Course in Toronto. He is currently a partner with the firm practicing in commercial litigation, real estate and mortgage recovery.

Matthew is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and the Ontario Bar Association. He is also a Notary Public.
