William J. Smith is a Toronto tax lawyer and tax planning lawyer at Devry Smith Frank LLP. He is one of Devry Smith Frank LLP’s most established tax lawyers. Bill was called to the bar in 1980 after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Glendon College, and his LL.B. from the University of Toronto Law School. Bill has practiced with the firm since then and heads our corporate and commercial practice.
Bill works closely with other professional advisors within and outside of DSF including accountants and tax and financial advisors in assisting his clients to minimize their tax exposure and is familiar with vehicles such as tax-free rollovers, co-tenancies, limited and general partnerships, trusts and estate freezes.
Bill’s clients include individuals as well as partnerships and corporations.
