George O. Frank, B.Math., LL.B.

Civil Litigation, Insurance Defence, Estate Planning and Wills

George has practiced with Devry, Smith & Frank LLP since 1980. He received a degree in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo and is a graduate of Queen’s University Law School in Kingston, Ontario, winning awards in Contracts Law and Mediations and Arbitrations. He was called to the Bar in 1982. George heads our civil litigation and insurance defence group. He has been certified by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a specialist in Civil Litigation.

Although George has practiced primarily in the area of civil litigation throughout his career, with extensive experience and expertise in personal injury and insurance defence litigation, commercial litigation, employment law, injunctions and equitable relief, he has also had broad experience in a wide variety of other areas, including estates and estate planning, real estate and commercial law.

George recently qualified for his C.F.P. (Certified Financial Planner) designation, and is actively involved in estate planning and preparation of wills and Powers of Attorney.
George has appeared before many different courts and tribunals in Ontario, including the Federal Court of Canada, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Workplace Safety & Insurance Board, the Ontario Municipal Board, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the CPP Review Tribunal. Cases in which George has been counsel have been reported in the Ontario Reports, the Canadian Bankruptcy Reports, Carswell Practice Cases, the Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure and other trade and business publications.

He has been an instructor of Civil Litigation at the Bar Admission Course in Toronto for several years and has spoken on a variety of legal topics.
Among his professional affiliations, George is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Toronto Lawyers Association, the Advocates Society and the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association.
